Cortlandt is proud to be participating along with 38 other communities and Westchester County in a coordinated Public Education & Outreach Program for Stormwater.
Stormwater Education and Outreach Program
The Westchester County Department of Planning, in partnership with most of Westchester’s local municipalities, is implementing a regional Stormwater Education and Outreach program through a grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). The program will help residents and others learn about ways that they can reduce stormwater pollution.
Non-Point Souce Pollution Priont Materials.
These posters stress the importance of reducing nonpoint source pollution at home. Pollution problems from human activities, such as leaking automobiles, contaminants found in dirty car wash soaps, excessive lawn fertilization, and improper disposal of pet waste are presented through colorful and humorous photographs.
