PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Town of Cortlandt has received funding via a Federal and State grant which will allow the Town to reconstruct approximately 1500 linear feet of existing asphalt sidewalk with concrete sidewalk and curbing, improving pedestrian connectivity in the Hamlet of Montrose along Route 9A.

The project entails the removal of the existing asphalt sidewalk and installation of new concrete sidewalk and curbing along NYS Route 9A / Albany Post Road in the Hamlet of Montrose, Town of Cortlandt. The sidewalk will begin on the west side of NYS Route 9A / Albany Post Road across from the intersection of Montrose Station Road and extend south along the roadway crossing Travis and Lancaster Avenue, ending at Roundtree Lane. It is the intent of the project to increase pedestrian connectivity within the Montrose Hamlet.

Work will take place in the State and Town right-of-ways of NYS Route 9A / Albany Post Road. The majority of proposed concrete sidewalk will be located in the same location as the existing asphalt walk. Portions will be widened to meet NYSDOT design and ADA accessibility guidelines.

WORK IS TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR THE SUMMER OF 2015

Periodically updates will be loaded to the site informing
residents of the status of the project.
