Town Of Cortlandt's Diversity Task Force Vision and Goals:

Vision:

The task force exists to support the Town of Cortlandt as it strives to become a community that celebrates the richness of its diversity, where all who live, work, play and worship are safe and enthusiastically, accepted, valued and respected as key participants and contributors to the enrichment of all.

Goals:

· To eliminate intentional and unintentional acts or expressions that violate our Diversity Vision.

· To proactively identify potential instances of bias and take measures to prevent their occurrence.

· To receive reports of and respond to bias incidents.

· To promote diversity education in general, and facilitate reconciliation when bias incidents occur.

· To establish requisite policies, programs, practices and procedures necessary to develop community based learning, teaching and outreach activities.

· To identify resources to meet the needs of our diversity programming.

· To reflect the community and model effective teaming and problem-solving by incorporating the richness of our own diversity.
