Expanded Household Recycling Days in Yorktown FDR Park

EXPANDED HOUSEHOLD RECYCLING DAY OFFERED MAY 8-9

Event will be held at FDR State Park in Yorktown

Household Recycling Day will be held this Friday (May 8) from 1-3 p.m. and Saturday (May 9) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at FDR State Park in Yorktown.  These popular events have so far been held at George‚Äôs Island in Montrose and Playland Park in Rye this year.

In addition to the usual household waste materials, residents can now bring in unused medication for safe disposal and personal papers for shredding. Also accepted are unwanted air-conditioners, empty barbecue tanks, washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators as well as all types of batteries including vehicle and non-rechargeable batteries.

Residents may bring pesticides, cleaning products, tires, computers, TVs and old cell phones for safe disposal.
