New Sidewalks in Montrose

Release Date: April 11, 2019

New Sidewalk Construction on Albany Post Road in the

Montrose Hamlet Area of the Town of Cortlandt

The Town Board and I are very pleased to inform our community that the next section of sidewalks on the State corridor of Albany Post Road (Rte 9A) are under construction.

As always we apply for various grants from the Federal or State Governments to help to offset the costs of our projects, including for infrastructure planning.

This capital project is co-funded by the Federal Government and the Town of Cortlandt.

The project expense was awarded to the lowest responsible bidder at $397,207.  Federal Aid for construction is $228,000 with the Town’s being responsible for $169,200.  The project will replace 1,500 linear feet of sidewalk and curbing on the westerly side of Albany Post Road.  It will benefit the businesses along this corridor and provide for a pedestrian walkway from Kings Ferry Road to Roundtree Lane.

The construction will take approximately four months and we thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during this period.  Also, part of this project will include decorative lamps to enhance the Montrose area.
