Public Hearing-Zoning Amendment Cortlandt Center Indoor Ice Skating Facility
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the PLANNING BOARD of the TOWN OF CORTLANDT will conduct a Public Hearing pursuant to a referral from the Cortlandt Town Board requesting a recommendation to amend the text of the Town of Cortlandt Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 307) for a Special Permit with respect to a proposed Cortlandt Center Indoor Ice Skating Facility.
Said Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 8:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Vincent F. Nyberg General Meeting Room at Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady Street, Cortlandt Manor, New York, to receive public comments and input, with respect to the proposed amendment to the Town of Cortlandt Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 307) as follows:
Amend Chapter 307.53 of the Town of Cortlandt Zoning Code to read as follows:
307.53 Tennis club, yacht club and sports and recreation facilities.
A. Purpose. The purpose of this section is to provide for the needs of Town residents to engage in sports and related activities, including, but not limited to tennis, other racquet sports, boating, swimming, ice skating, soccer, basketball, baseball and similar participatory sports opportunities by allowing tennis and yacht clubs, similar membership clubs, sports and recreation facilities and to ensure that such clubs and facilities are developed in a manner that is not disruptive to the neighborhood.
B. Standards and conditions. Standards and conditions shall be as follows:
(1) The privileges of the clubs shall be limited to regularly enrolled members and their guests and the privileges of the sports and recreational facilities shall be for all invitees.
(7) The permit-granting authority may reduce the number of parking spaces required by Article VIII of this chapter when it finds that the maximum anticipated number of cars at the facility, because of its particular type, location, hours of operation, capacity of club facilities or other reasons, would be less than the required number of spaces, but in the case of a membership club, the requirement may not be reduced below one space for each three memberships.
Anyone interested in addressing comments on the above to the Planning Board may do so by appearing in person at the above time and place or by submitting their written comments to the Cortlandt Planning Office no later than 3:00 P.M. on September 6, 2006.
