The Town of Cortlandt hosts a number of programs that  are available during non-school hours. Schools in both Lakeland Central School District and Hendrick Hudson School District are included.  Residents can enjoy free play on several playgrounds or participate in Town of Cortlandt sports leagues that practice and play at school locations. 

The Town of Cortlandt owns and maintains several additional sites.  At Sprout Brook Park, there is a playground, picnic pavillon that can accomidate up to 175 people a Little League baseball field, a Soccer field, 2 lighted Softball fields and a Dog Park.   At the Charles J. Cook Recreational Center residents can enjoy swimming, diving, tennis, hiking, relaxing and picnicking.

During the cooler months, the Town of Cortlandt promotes and activity and fun with an abundant list of programs and activities available to residents, young and old.  The Town of Cortlandt Recreation Division makes the most out of being indoors during the winter months by hosting socials and events at both the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center and the Cortlandt Town Center Community Room.  Three times a year, the Recreation Division publishes a brochure listing all the programs offered through the Town of Cortlandt.

Cortlandt Parks Division is able to provide residents with fun and relaxing activities year-round.  Over thirty parks and recreational facilities, including eighteen ball fields and fifteen playgrounds, are available to Town residents.
