DES HIGHWAY DIVISION SPRING ACTIVITIES
Please be advised that the asphalt plants opened in this area on April 8th and the Department has begun daily pothole repairs throughout Town. To report a pothole, please contact the Highway Division at 737-0075. Streetsweeping is also underway. Roadway re-striping occurs based on the contractor’s availability and will not occur until the nighttime pavement temperature is above 50 degrees. The Town’s annual roadway resurfacing contract typically is let to bid in the Summer with the work occurring in late summer/early fall.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Highway Division of DES is responsible for road maintenance, snow plowing, drainage repair and maintenance, sweeping, tree work, guiderails, traffic pavement parkings, etc. The Highway division maintains over 320 miles of roadway. More detailed list of responsibilities is below:
