BRIEF SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS SWIMMING POOL AND SPAS

ATTENTION RESIDENTS AND CONTRACTORS

The Town has received an significant increase in calls and applications pertaining to the installation of swimming pools and spas. 

A Permit is required for Swimming Pools and Spas.

  • The term “Swimming Pool” means any structure, basin, chamber or tank which is intended for swimming, diving, recreational bathing or wading and which contains, is designed to contain, or is capable of containing water more than 24 inches (610 mm) deep at any point. This includes in-ground, above-ground and on-ground pools; indoor pools; hot tubs; spas; and fixed-in-place wading pools

Permit is still required if a pool is proposed to be seasonal and erected for only a portion of the year.

When submitting an application for a Swimming Pool and/or Spa please be aware there are restrictions for locating near onsite Sanitary Systems (Septic) and required expansion areas.

If trees are proposed to be removed additional information may be required.
