Hendrick Hudson Free Library is an association library chartered by the New York State Department of Education to serve the Hendrick Hudson School District. As a member of the Westchester Library System, it also provides services to a larger community. The mission of the Library is:
--To provide an opportunity for learning, recreation, cultural enrichment and personal growth for all the residents of the Hendrick Hudson School District through the resources and personnel of the public library.
--To apply traditional expertise and changing technology for equal access to quality library services, materials, and facilities.
Located at 185 Kings Ferry Road in Montrose, the library building offers free Wi-Fi access, is air-conditioned, accessible for disabled persons, allows for flexible use of space, and has study and meeting areas available for public use.
The Reference section has seven Internet computers with access to a variety of databases. Library holdings number over 82,000 items including books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, and blu-ray discs. Our active programming schedule includes teen and adult activities such as book discussion groups, craft programs, and seminars. The Children’s Room is a popular community spot for story and craft programs, concerts, and character visits. A book sale is ongoing in the lobby.
The Constance Dyckman Community Room seats 100 people and serves as a gallery space for art exhibits.

The Croton Free Library, at 171 Cleveland Drive in Croton-On-Hudson, host and on-going schedule of special events, including concerts, plays films and speakers. The Library is also home to a collection of 80,000 books and periodicals, as well as audiocassettes, CD’s and videotapes.
Featuring an online automated catalog system, a full reference section and Internet access, the Croton Free Library makes tough research assignments easier. Story hours introduce children to the pleasures of reading, and the Library is short walk from Village schools.

The Field Library, located in the heart of Peekskill’s downtown Artist District – is a knowledge center for the 58,500 residents of Peekskill and the Town of Cortland. There is something for everyone – from the littlest library lovers, to seniors looking to expand their creativity working with teaching artists and taking computer classes and everything in between. Borrow books, DVDs, magazines and even borrow an e-reader to download the library’s collection of digital content.
Teens engage in science and the arts through the YA program, iPad photo workshops and the Teen Anime Manga Club. Middle-graders explore their literacy as Junior Critics on the Field Library Frog Blog, get homework help and the whole family is entertained with live performances on summer Thursday nights at Library Live!
For the local history buff professional, amateur or just the curious -The Field Library is a treasure trove of gems that covers the history of Peekskill, Westchester County, New York State and the American Revolution. The Field Library Local History Collection, the Colin T. Naylor, Jr. Archives, is home to an extraordinary collection of photos, maps, books and extensive genealogical data offering a central repository of information on the history of Peekskill. Explore maps from the 1700 to the present, Peekskill newspapers from the 1800’s and much more. The library is also now home to a collection of eight paintings of Peekskill in the 1930’s and 1940’s by contemporary artist Arthur Frischke.

The John C. Hart Memorial Library in Shrub Oak, NY is the municipal library for the Town of Yorktown and also serves Town of Cortlandt residents in the Lakeland School District. We provide over 18,000 registered borrowers with a wide range of services. The John C. Hart Memorial Library has been enriching our community since 1920.
In addition to maintaining a collection of over 86,000 books, almost 7000 music and audiobook CDs and over 7200 DVD s, the library provides access to electronic books, audios, and videos e to download. These holdings are enhanced by our ability to share resources with other Westchester public libraries as members of the cooperative Westchester Library System. The library maintains Internet access workstations for public use and provides free high speed wireless services. The library provides low cost printing from library computers as well as printing through a web portal from wireless device or from offsite locations.
As part of our mission to serve the community by providing a center for intellectual, personal and cultural enrichment for peoples of all ages and backgrounds, the library offers programs for adults and children. Children and teens can participate in the library’s Summer Reading Game. We circulate museum passes which provide free or reduced admission to a variety of museums and historic sites. We also offer one on one sessions . Teens help people master their technological devices or read to small children in our Reading Buddies program . Older people are assisted in the Senior Benefits Information Center. School aged children receive homework help through our Teacher in the Library program. Volunteers in the Hart to the Home Bound program deliver books to those who are no longer physically able to come themselves.
We are located at 1130 East Main Street in Shrub Oak and the hours are: Mon-Thurs 9:30am-8pm, Fri and Sat 9:30am-5pm, and Sundays Noon - 4pm (Sept thru April).
