AMERICAN RED CROSS BABYSITTING COURSE (Ages 11- 14)

The ARC Babysitter’s Training course is designed to provide youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely & responsibly give care for children & infants in a fun and interactive way. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves & others safe, help children behave & learn about basic child care as well as basic first aid. Successful participants earn ARC Certification. Bring water & a snack.

Come and join us two nights a week for open gym basketball! Open to Croton, Hendrick Hudson, Lakeland Middle and Panas High School Students or any middle/high school student who is a town resident. Youth must be registered to participant; sign-up forms are available at the program.

YC CLEAN-UP (Grades 6th-12th)
Join the Glashoffs in this unique program to help clean-up our town! Participants will be given supplies to help them pick-up litter and debris from local sites around the town. Youth will
receive volunteer hours for community service. Parents will be responsible for dropping off and picking-up their child at the designated location.

Love to act or sing? This workshop is for everyone from the beginning student to the seasoned performer. Experience the fun of theatrical games, auditioning and having a role in a live production! Taught by a professional actress/director, youth will enjoy nine working classes with a final performance.

JR. CHOPPED COMPETITION
Grab a partner or compete individually, sign up to show off your cooking skills in this safe & fun cooking competition. Judges will be looking at appearance, creativity, theme and flavor as they taste your creation. Each competition has a theme and an ingredient that must be included. To register call 914-736-0498.

Learn how to use a variety of different cookers to harness the sun’s energy to make a meal. This program includes both commercially available and do-it-yourself style solar energy powered ovens to cook with. Using this renewable energy source for cooking benefits the environment and reduces the wastes generated by other cooking methods. 8 person minimum.

SURVIVAL BRACELETS (Grades 6th- 12th)

This program focuses on the use of simple versatile items to create small kits that can be useful in survival situations. Survival bracelets are simple survival kits that you can wear. The participants will be taught how these items could be used to meet a variety of different survival needs. Participants get to keep the survival bracelet at the end of the program. 8 person minimum.

Come mix it up and join us for some creative cooking. We'll make it, bake it, stir it, cut it and lots more "hot stuff" (and cold cooking, too)! We'll integrate themes, science, math and more along with many skills while expanding our taste palate and being introduced to some new ingredients and food combinations.
